Great Old Ones may use Arcana Cards to summon random Monsters to their aid. This can occur at any time after the start of play.
If a Monster is summoned to an unoccupied Node, it remains there until it is destroyed. If all Monster tokens of a particular type are on the Board, any Arcana Card that summons one means one may be taken from a Node of the summoner’s choice.
Whenever a Monster is summoned to an occupied Node, the combat must be resolved before returning to the normal turn sequence.
In combat, Monsters not directly under the control of a particular player are controlled by the Great Old One to the right of the player who is being attacked (use white d6). If they are not destroyed in combat, they remain in play in the Node they were summoned ready to attack any incursions into the space except by other Monsters, with whom they will co-exist.
