First Player Token

To signify who goes first in a new turn, the ‘Maw of Azathoth’ (First Player) token is placed within the pentagonal Grand Conjunction symbol at the top of a Great Old One’s Card and the smaller Turn Token is placed on the Cosmic Clock. Each Great Old One takes a turn being First Player as it cycles anti-clockwise around the board starting with Great Cthulhu in Turn 1.  At the end of the Turn, First Player moves the Turn Token forward one space and passes the Maw of Azathoth to the next player to their right.
