‘In addition to Cultists, Great Old Ones may also choose to deploy Servitors. Servitors are races that are inextricably linked to each Great Old One. They are represented by the larger tokens the same colour as their deity’s Alchemical Sign. Servitors may act as hit men, messengers, spies and delivery boys, frightening off Investigators and bulking out confrontations. They lurk in the Void awaiting a sacrifice to summon them forth.’
In this phase, Great Old Ones may choose to sacrifice Cultists in order to summon Servitors to aid their schemes.
Typically, three (3) Cultists are sacrificed in exchange for one (1) Servitor.
More than one Servitor can be summoned in a turn if the Great Old One wishes, but she must declare how many Servitors she intends to summon at the beginning of the phase and sacrifice the equivalent number of Cultists by removing them from any of her occupied Nodes.
The Servitor is placed in any one of the Great Old One’s controlled Nodes, and may be moved in the turn in which it is summoned.
Except in a Great Old One’s Spawning Node, there can be no more than three (3) Servitors occupying a Node at any point. Outside this stacking limit, excess Servitors must be discarded to the Void and cannot be placed.
Only the ‘Serpent People of Nyarlathotep’ may hold Nodes as this is their Special Ability, all other Servitor races must remain in a Node that is populated by their Cultists or lose their mystical link to the physical world and be cast into the Void.
Great Old Ones must occupy their Spawning Node to be able to summon forth a Servitor.
