Death & Reincarnation

‘That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die.’

Cultists and Servitors willingly give up their existence in the service of their Great Old One, however even when some cataclysmic event overtakes your forces and they are wiped from the field of battle, death is but a pause from which they will reawaken and help their deity regain its rightful place and favour.

What to do in Limbo When You’re Dead

If, for whatever reason, a Great Old One loses possession of all his Nodes, he is banished to the Void along with any remaining Servitors until the start of a new round at the turning of the Cosmic Clock.

Great Old Ones who have all of their tokens eliminated from the board must wait until the start of their next turn until they can re-spawn. The Great Old One can continue to play any remaining Arcana Cards up until this time, but must discard any unplayed cards face-up onto the Arcana Discard pile and draw a new hand of five (5) cards at the start of their next turn. They also receive a new set of five (5) Cultists.

If their Spawning Node is unoccupied they must immediately move to occupy it; otherwise they may either choose to contest it or move to occupy another vacant Node in their Alchemical ring. If there are multiple unoccupied Nodes, they may choose which one to occupy.

If no vacant Node exists they must attempt to contest possession of a Node in their ring controlled by another Great Old One.  Remember that until the Great Old One occupies their Spawning Node, they may not summon forth Servitors to assist them and they cannot win the game.
